Her story
Tanujaben is a blessed cook with a passion for empowering her daughters and raising them to be changemakers in society. Her story is that of endurance and uphill struggle, which has shaped her entire life.
Born in Ahmedabad into a family of daily-wage earners, Tanujaben was the eldest among her siblings, which compelled her to marry at the tender age of 18. Her relationship with her husband turned out to be bitter, leading to emotional and mental stress. While her married life was tough, financial constraints amplified the challenges in her life.
However, she was adamant about providing quality education to her two daughters, something she was deprived of during her childhood.
In 2015, she joined the Gramshree Sumati admin office as a housekeeper. Today she cooks delicious snacks for the entire Gramshree family every evening and feeds everyone with a big smile on her face.
To meet her financial needs, she takes individual catering orders for small events and delivers tiffins in the morning before reaching the office. She has been a part of Gramshree for the past six years and has since been living her life to the fullest.
