Gramshree partners with families willing to contribute to the upliftment of the future of our country, our children.
These families adopt a child of one of Gramshree’s women and commit to supporting their education. Education is the key to transforming the lives of children, and can take them out of work and into the classroom.
We also focus on an often-neglected facet of our society: girls’ education. An educated girl is more likely to grow up empowered to determine the course of her life.
Gramshree aims to be a catalyst in transforming communities, countries and, eventually, the world through holistic development activities. This coming together of two families elevates the feeling of ‘Maitri’, or friendship, among people from diverse walks of life.
How it works
Two families, one child’s education
Child Ed-support brings together a family that wants to help and a child of one of Gramshree’s women.
They adopt a child
Each family adopts a child of one of Gramshree’s women.
Education is supported
The family commits to supporting the child’s education, helping to take children out of work and into the classroom.
Friendship grows
The coming together of two families elevates ‘Maitri’, friendship among people from diverse walks of life.
Girls’ education
An educated girl shapes her own life
Child Ed-support also focuses on an often-neglected facet of our society: girls’ education.
Our work with girls goes back many years. In 2008, more than 15 adolescent girls came together every Sunday at the community centre in Ramapir no Tekro for an awareness and education programme held by two volunteers, building confidence and self-reliance through self-defence, health awareness and public speaking.
An educated girl is more likely to grow up empowered to determine the course of her life.
Our belief
Education for all
“Education for all” is one of the fundamental philosophies of Gramshree.
For us, education is not limited to textbooks. It is about going beyond the conventional horizons and building a holistic curriculum. Educating a woman means educating a family, and so an educated and aware nation.
